Company History

MTS is a family business still owned by its founders Keith Crust (Chairman) and his brother Brian Crust (Vice Chairman) who started the company in 1986. From servicing local domestic customers with one vehicle, the company has grown to become recognised as the leading UK waste management and recycling company.

Our Board of Directors also comprises Antony Crust (Chief Executive Officer), Brian Crust (Chief Operating Officer), Steve Gilson (Managing Director), Richard Spencer-Tanner (Finance Director), Allen Crust (Executive Director), Terry Crust (Human Resources Director), Sian Cropper (Contracts Director), Spencer Crust (Major Projects Director), Chris Henderson (Sales Director) and Scott Diamond (Compliance Director).

Chairman's Statement
Welcome to the MTS website where you will find information on the wide range of waste management services we offer and the extensive state-of-the-art resources we have available.

Our dedication to the highest standards of customer service is supported by many accreditations. We have recently achieved 100% compliance for the Achilles UVDB standard and the Gold Award from RoSPA, placing us alongside other leading British companies.

MTS employs more than 500 people and our network of depots stretches across the south east of England and into the Midlands. We continuously update and renew our fleet of high performance vehicles and plant. As well as our comprehensive services for domestic and commercial customers, we are a key supplier to major utility companies including Southern Water, Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, South East Water and Cappagh Browne Utilities Ltd.

I am proud to say that MTS is leading the way in environmentally friendly waste treatment with our innovative in-house facility. We recycle sewage waste, helping our customers to both save money and achieve zero waste to landfill.

Health and safety is at the heart of all we do. Our Compliance Director and Head of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) ensure that our workforce has the correct training, information, supervision and equipment to carry out their work safely. We also support general wellbeing with a programme of initiatives to promote a happy and healthy workplace for everyone.

The company’s greatest asset is our highly skilled team and their commitment to customer service has been vital to our growth and success for more than thirty years. Behind the scenes the workshop and stores teams ensure that our vehicles are maintained around the clock and all employees have appropriate safety clothing and equipment.

From initial recruitment and training by our HR division, to daily operations overseen by our divisional managers and their teams, through to clear and accurate invoices from the finance team I believe MTS offers exceptional standards across the board.
