Job Title:                       Business Development Manager

Reporting to:                Business Development Director

Location:                      Southern Region

Working Hours:             Monday to Friday; 50 hours per week

Salary:                          Circa £32,000 to £35,000 per annum + company car + bonus scheme

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • To manage successful service levels to an established existing client base
  • Develop New Business within the sector to keep informed of the status of current and future new business projects
  • Working as part of a team and able to demonstrate team work
  • Support the Business Development Director on specific projects as requested
  • Be able to write tenders for new business and include - investigations on the ground to develop operational solutions, commercial proposals
  • Writing estimates and proposals
  • Prepare and give verbal presentations to prospective and existing clients
  • Attend regional meetings as required to keep up to date with existing contracts, identify development opportunities, and to develop and maintain working relationships with colleagues
  • Ensuring appointments are booked
  • Preparing risk and method statements for upcoming planned work
  • Securing disposal sites for waste
  • Developing waste classification skills
  • Arranging for delivery and collection of waste samples for analysis
  • Responding to customers enquiries
  • Liaising with marketing department to promote and advertise services
  • Ensuring all BDM’s sales figures are correctly recorded on systems
  • PQQ and writing tender quotes for customers, once fully trained and confident
  • Generating customer leads for sales team

Person Specification:

  • Good communication skills are essential to be able to liaise with partners/subcontractors/suppliers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Reliable
  • Work consistently to high standards of quality, health and safety
  • Ability to set own tasks and enable completion of responsibilities
  • Honest with high levels of integrity
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Trustworthy
  •  Full UK Driving Licence (clean)
