Our crews were called in to deal with the aftermath of an oil spill in a wet well in Ponton Road, London SW8.
We removed the oily waste from the wet well and tankered it away. This was followed by a thorough steam clean to remove all residue from inside the chamber, as well as cleaning all the lines to it.
Due to the nature of the spillage and close confines of the wet well, our engineers used full breathing apparatus.
Umbilical breathing apparatus has helped to eliminate many of the risks involved in confined space entry work. The units comprise a self-contained, fully mobile, triple filtered air system which is designed to deliver breathing quality compressed air. There is no need for heavy and bulky bottled working sets which allows our engineer greater freedom of movement and enables them to work more quickly.
