We’re celebrating 32 years in business, proudly serving clients old and new, large and small.
Established as Municipal Tanker Services Ltd in August 1986 by our Chairman Keith Crust and his brother Brian Crust, the company has seen many changes and developments over the years.
We began with one tanker serving domestic customers in the Medway area of Kent and we continue to offer an unrivalled household service. We install, service, empty and maintain all kinds of septic tanks, cesspools and sewage treatment plants. In addition we solve all kinds of drain problems, using CCTV condition surveys and a complete repair service including no-dig relining options.
As the company has grown, so has our customer base which includes local authorities, commercial and industrial clients. We have developed specialist skills to deal with all kinds of drainage-related issues from flooding response through forecourt and car park interceptor cleaning to ADR (Hazchem) tankering.
In 2001 we won our first key sewer cleaning contract for a major water utility company - Thames Water. This was the beginning of our development into a key provider to the utility sector.
We now operate a fleet of 400 vehicles from our network of depots across the south east and Midlands. Our expansion into the Midlands has been to support our Tier One contract with Severn Trent Water which began in 2015.
We work collaboratively with our clients to deliver the best results. We have supported Severn Trent Water in their work to achieve goals such as “fewer sewer flooding incidents, ensuring waste water is safely taken away”. This aim is part of the Severn Trent Water Five Year Plan 2015 – 2020. Our contract with Severn Trent Water has now been extended to run through to 2020.
Southern Water have also appointed MTS as a Tier One contractor for waste and recycling. Our environmentally friendly waste treatment is a key part of the service we provide to Southern Water, helping them to achieve a 100% recycling rate for the first time.
Looking back on the progress of MTS as a company over the last 32 years, Chairman Keith Crust said; “I would like to thank all MTS employees, both the long standing and the very new, for all their hard work and, in many instances, loyal years of service. I treasure all of the contributions and efforts from our directors, managers, foremen and most of all our office and frontline staff. I look forward to many more years of MTS delivering excellent service to our clients.”
