MTS is one of the first Gold Award recipients in the brand new Medway Workplace Wellbeing Awards scheme.
This new recognition programme from Medway Council gives local employers the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to the health and wellbeing of their workforce.
Our company was founded in the Medway area and today the MTS head office is located at Stanley House, on the Medway City Estate in Rochester, Kent. Around 50 office staff are based here, including company directors, managers and the HR and accounts departments. We also have security, workshop and stores staff as well as drivers based on site.
In total around 240 staff are based at Stanley House. The remainder of our 400+ workforce are based at other depots located across the south east and Midlands.
We have worked closely with A Better Medway for several years, bringing many wellbeing initiatives into our HQ. These have included help to stop smoking, diabetes prevention information, free DIY health check kiosks and information on NHS health checks for the over-40s.
So we were delighted to take part in the inaugural Medway Workplace Wellbeing Awards programme. Assessment for the Awards included interviews with some MTS managers and staff to discuss their experiences of wellbeing at work. We’d like to thank everyone who took part and helped us to achieve Gold.
The assessment report from Medway Council concluded that; “MTS Cleansing Services should be proud of their offer and their work in the area of Wellbeing to date. Receiving this award is a great achievement and highlights that MTS Cleansing Services Limited is an employer who takes wellbeing seriously and is a responsible business in the local community.”
Ian Watson, MTS Head of SHEQW and Jackie Hall, MTS Wellbeing Champion, pictured, attended the Awards launch event at the Medway Innovation Centre. Over 40 local businesses were in attendance to see the first presentation of certificates, ranging from Bronze for those putting the first healthy workplace building blocks in place through to Platinum for exemplary employers.
Ian said; “This is a great programme which supports and rewards organisations who are working to embed a healthy and happy workplace for all employees. We’re thrilled to receive the Gold Award and we’re working hard to achieve the very top accreditation of Exemplary Employer (Platinum Award) next time round.”
