We’ve been talking to Kent community radio station Sheppey FM 92.2 about the importance of wellbeing at MTS.
Jackie Hall is the MTS Wellbeing Champion who coordinates and publicises a wide variety of initiatives designed to create a happy and healthy workplace for everyone. MTS was recently invited to do an interview with Sheppey FM presenter Keith Russell on his afternoon show.
MTS has always had safety at its heart – making sure that everyone goes home safely at the end of the working day is our main priority. In recent years, we have also been striving to improve wellbeing across our workforce and to create a healthy working environment. Good wellbeing is key to a positive team attitude and a good work/life balance.
Jackie said; “It was a pleasure to visit the station’s media centre in Sheerness and talk about the ways we’re working to improve wellbeing at MTS. It was very interesting to see the community radio studio in action, all run and presented by volunteers.”
The team at Sheppey FM work hard for their local community, not only as an informative radio station, but also a charity that works alongside individuals with additional needs.
Sheppey FM’s fully equipped Training Suite is available for schools, colleges, groups, and individuals to attend media training courses and gain accredited qualifications.
There are opportunities to progress to programming, production techniques and journalism. The training offers something for everyone and can accommodate all ages and abilities. Due to high demand Sheppey FM focuses attention and support on those that are disadvantaged or have additional needs.
