MTS joined 17 other finalists at the 2019 Medway Business Awards on 15 November. We were delighted and proud to be the winners of the Employer of the Year Award.
The Medway Business Awards were founded 35 years ago, aiming to boost esteem in the area following the closure of the Chatham Dockyard and other manufacturing firms. Today the awards are a celebration of regeneration and the proliferation of thriving local businesses in the Medway area.
MTS was founded in 1986 by brothers Keith and Brian Crust, both born and raised in Medway. Originally a domestic cesspool service catering to local households, the company has grown to employ more than 400 people and is now a key supplier to major clients up and down the country throughout many industries.
The judging process included interviews with a variety of MTS staff at our company headquarters on the Medway City Estate in Rochester, Kent.
Steve Gilson, MTS Managing Director said; “Our founders and directors are all local people who continue to give back to the Medway community. This award is a fantastic achievement, made possible by the hard work and dedication of everyone at MTS. From the field operatives, office staff and managers through to our stores and workshop personnel, everyone has contributed to our success.”
There were two award categories, with seven entries for the Historic Dockyard category and 11 other finalists competing with MTS for the general awards.
The glamorous awards ceremony at Priestfield stadium conference suite had a 1980s theme to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the annual event.
