Watch MTS in action at Southern Water’s Fort Cumberland site in a brand new film created by ATEC 3D, using drone helicopters.
MTS crews have been based at Fort Cumberland near Portsmouth since September 2013, cleaning out an estimated 7,000 tonnes of silt, rag and grit from storm tanks in preparation for improvement works.
Stunning aerial footage shows the state-of-the-art equipment MTS has deployed for this complex work. A Disab industrial vacuum machine works at 90% vacuum efficiency, able to pump from depths of 100m and more. Then our D-Max CDE screening unit separates rag and grit from the sludge, enabling 100% of the screened waste to be recycled at the MTS sister company Composting Facilities Services (CFS) Ltd.
MTS is the leading specialist in confined space entry work and our skilled teams have been on site at the massive cleaning project throughout, supported by breathing apparatus units and qualified high risk rescue personnel. The film shows the confined space entry crew in action inside the storm tanks.
