MTS took delivery of four new CCTV vans this week.
The new units are equipped with fully portable equipment which can be used either from the van or handheld. With the latest HD cameras both push and tractor driven and high spec LED lighting, these units can survey drains and sewers from 75mm to 2000mm diameter.
Allen Crust, Executive Director at MTS is responsible for the custom-built CCTV fleet. Allen said; “These new rigs are far more environmentally friendly than older CCTV vans. The cameras run on batteries instead of the old-style petrol generators so there is no noise disruption and far less impact on the environment.”
The new on-board jetting machines work at 3,000 psi at eight gallons per minute and the water tanks hold 400 litres.
Allen Crust continued; “Each van is operated by a two-man crew. All our crews are fully trained to water industry standards with OS19X certification. They’re also fully trained in Signing, Lighting and Guarding and the New Roads and Street Works Act. Safety is our main priority, for our own staff and the general public.”
