MTS has been honoured with a Silver Award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
Keith Crust, founder and Chairman of MTS, will receive the award from Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire at a reception aboard HMS Victory on 6th September. The reception aboard Nelson’s historic flagship in Portsmouth will be hosted by Vice Admiral Jonathan Woodcock OBE, the Second Sea Lord.
The South East Regional Employer Engagement Board for the Armed Forces Covenant nominated MTS for this award.
MTS signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant in August 2016 when the company also received the Bronze Employer Recognition Award. The Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
Antony Crust, Managing Director of MTS, signed the Covenant with Captain Paul Herlihy, Officer Commanding 124 Transport Squadron 151 Transport Regiment RLC, one of Kent’s Army Reserve Units. Antony said; “MTS was founded in Kent and is still based here, so we’re looking forward to building on our links with local Kent Army Reserves. We’re proud to be a forces-friendly employer supporting the Armed Forces Community.”
MTS joins an ever-growing list of leading companies and organisations signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant. In order to deliver the best possible outcomes for the armed forces community, the government is working with a range of delivery partners including local authorities, charity, community organisations and businesses. Jonathan Darrington-Slegg, representing the South East Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, said; “Signing the Covenant has provided an opportunity to establish a solid relationship between MTS and the armed forces community. Co-signing the Covenant with 124 Transport Squadron is an opportunity to create local links with a regionally based Army Reserve Unit.
