We’re delighted to announce our third consecutive RoSPA Gold Award success, recognising our commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.
RoSPA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) has been working for nearly 100 years to change legislation and attitudes surrounding accidents. Accidents remain the biggest threat to our personal safety for most of our lives – more than 14,000 people die as a result of accidents in the UK each year. Thousands more are maimed and millions are injured. Businesses are ruined and families are devastated.
RoSPA has been instrumental in shaping our society for the better, from the compulsory wearing of seatbelts and the campaign to stop drink driving, to the Cycling Proficiency Test and the more recent ban on handheld mobile phones behind the wheel.
The RoSPA Awards is the world’s longest-running health and safety awards initiative, having launched in 1956.
Here at MTS safety at work is our top priority and we work hard to ensure that everyone goes home safe at the end of each day. We’re proud of our corporate ethos of safety first at all times and the work we do to support all our employees.
Every new starter at MTS learns about our passion for safe working practices during their induction programme.
We ensure that all our operatives receive rigorous industry standard training, to deliver excellent customer service and deliver that service safely. We're proud of the recognition we have received for our high standards of management in all aspects of health and safety.
We submitted our first ever entry to the RoSPA Awards in 2015 and were delighted to achieve a Silver Award on that initial attempt. The following year we received our first Gold Award and we’re very proud to have maintained this standard of excellence through to 2018. The Gold Award recognises our continuous improvements in health, safety and wellbeing across our business.
In addition to stringent working standards, we’re also committed to improving wellbeing for everyone at MTS and creating a happy, healthy workplace for all.
General wellbeing is key to a positive team attitude and a good work/life balance. Our aim is a healthier, fitter, more motivated workforce and an active, fun work environment. We believe that improved awareness of wellbeing issues among our staff can help to reduce sickness caused by work related stress. In turn, healthier and more motivated employees can help us achieve improved business performance.
We’re looking forward to receiving our Gold Award at the RoSPA ceremony at London’s ExCEL on 19 June.
