Health, safety and wellbeing is at the heart of all we do at MTS. We work hard to ensure that everyone goes home safely at the end of each working day.

Everyone joining MTS is introduced to our safety ethos from day one. We aim to embed the highest standards of health and safety awareness in all our staff throughout their career with us.

We know that general wellbeing is key to a positive team attitude and a good work/life balance.

Workplace wellbeing

We aim to create a happy and healthy workplace for everyone. Our Wellbeing Champion coordinates information and activities designed to promote general wellbeing for all employees. We work with our supply chain partners to share best practice and initiatives.

We keep everyone in the loop through regular email updates, posters and articles in MTS News as well as free events and initiatives. We offer free drop-in sessions including free health MOTs, help to stop smoking, advice on healthy eating, diabetes prevention and more.

Our occupational health programme includes workplace medical checks and phased return to work after long term sickness absence. Our staff have access to special offers on leisure activities such as reduced price local gym membership, sporting opportunities and school holiday activities.

We support national campaigns and awareness events including Dry January, Stoptober, National Cholesterol Month, Movember and many more.

We have pledged to support the No Time to Lose campaign against workplace cancer. This campaign is spearheaded by the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health who have featured our work to reduce harmful vehicle emissions in an IOSH film.

We’re working to help end mental health discrimination in the workplace and have signed the Time to Change pledge. We have several trained Mental Health First Aiders who can give support and advice to colleagues suffering mental health problems before professional help is obtained.

Our work on safety and wellbeing has been recognised by leading national accreditation bodies including RoSPAAchilles UVDB and many others.
